CHERRYFIELD – Charles “Cleve” Dalton passed away at home in Cherryfield with is family by his side on October 9, 2017.
Born May 7, 1948 in Perth Amboy, NJ, he married his childhood sweetheart, Sue, and moved to Maine in 1971. During his career, Cleve was a seaman and tugboat captain, carpenter, and heavy equipment operator. He regularly donated time and materials for multiple community projects and supported rescue animals throughout his life.
Cleve is survived by his wife Sue, son Charles and wife Vanessa, daughter Heather and husband Jim, and son Cory. He was a devoted and doting grandfather to Elizabeth, Charlie, and Walter.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Harrington, with a reception to follow. It was his desire that in lieu of flowers, donations to improve handicapped access be made to the First Baptist Church of Harrington, or to Harrington Family Health Center.
The family would like to thank Cancer Care of Maine, Community Health and Counseling, Hospice volunteers, and Harrington Family Health Center for excellent care during his illness.
