LITTLE DEER ISLE –¬†Alecia Maude Weed Gray Chatto, 80, of Little Deer Isle, died Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born September 1, 1937, at home, in Little Deer Isle, one of fourteen children to Donald and Alecia Weed.

She worked at the fish factories, clamming, picking crabs and gardening. She loved working in her own flower gardens and decorating her house for holidays, especially Christmas. She liked going out for breakfast at Harbor Cafe with her friend Sandra Eaton and having lunch or ice cream somewhere with her sister Bernice.

She is survived by five children, William H. Gray and his wife, Doreen, of Deer Isle, Cynthia Haskell and her husband, Peter, of Stonington, Sheri Robinson and her husband, Christopher, of Little Deer Isle, Tina Gray of Blue Hill, and Paula Eaton and her husband, Gary, of Stonington; grandchildren, Shawn Gray of Deer Isle, Eric Haskell and his wife, Sarah and children, Alexandria, Xavier and Felix, of Cape Elizabeth, Adam Haskell and his wife, Kim and children, Kalley and Austin, of Brewer, Evan Haskell and his wife, Kate and children, Clyde and Stella, of Deer Isle, Erin Haskell and her partner, Joe, of Westbrook, Tereena Klemenz and her husband, Jon and children, Riley, Greyson and Liem, of Stonington, Richard Robinson and his partner, Christina and daughter, Danica, of Little Deer Isle, Christopher Robinson and his partner, Sarah and children, Allaina and James, of Deer Isle, Tyler Robinson of Little Deer Isle, Tiffany MacDonald and children, Cassidy, Griffin and Eleanor, of Deer Isle, Jaimmie Eaton of Hampden, Kennady Eaton of Blue Hill, Broddie Eaton of Little Deer Isle, Joshua Eaton and his wife, Mindy and children, Reece and Harper, of Blue Hill, and Andrew Eaton of Deer Isle; brothers, Robert Weed, Austin Weed and Tony Weed; sisters, Mildred Steinbeck, Madelene Hodgkins and Bernice Jones; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Elwell Weed, Richard Weed and Cleveland Weed; sisters, Mildred Marie (as a baby), Charlotte Eaton, Arlene Eaton and Vivian Robertson.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Howard’s Hill Cemetery, Little Deer Isle. A gathering of remembrance and refreshments for extended family and friends will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the home of Paula Eaton, 39 Weedfield Rd., Stonington.
