Gail Louise (Folsom) Cleaves: October 5, 1938 – January 5, 2018
Duane Donald Cleaves: December 11, 1937 – January 29, 2019
Duane Cleaves, formally of Presque Isle, Maine and Brooksville, Florida passed away peacefully at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. Duane was born in Westfield, Maine, son of Benjamin and Phyllis (Holmes) Cleaves.
Gail (Folsom) Cleaves, was born in Monticello, Maine, daughter of Lloyd and Bernice (Howe) Folsom.
Duane and Gail were married for 53 loving years. They leave behind son Troy D. Cleaves and his fiancé, Shellie of Hancock, grandchildren, Tyson, Taylor, Aisley, Michelle and Justin, great-grandchild, Broderick; and son Scott B. Cleaves and wife Brandy of Hancock and grandson Wyatt Benjamin.
Duane also leaves behind 7 brothers and sisters and was predeceased by one brother. Gail was predeceased by 2 brothers and one sister.
Duane will be fondly remembered by the boys at Camp Big Whiskey, sitting next to the camp fire and telling stories about 12 mile and the Big Deer that were shot or got away.
Gail will be missed greatly by her dear friends at the Camper’s Holiday Ladies Luncheons.
Services will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:30 am, at the Elks Lodge in Augusta with a burial to follow at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
