Steuben – Billy Wayne Chipman, 72, passed away on August 16, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Columbia Falls, ME on November 22, 1946, son of the late Willis and Eleanor Chipman of Milbridge.
He attended Milbridge schools. He was currently self-employed as a lobster fisherman on the F/V Good ‘N’ Nuff.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila, of 52 years; daughter Billie Jo Pung and husband Greg of Franklin; two very special grandchildren Justin Brenton and wife Lanie of Milbridge, Hayley Brenton and companion James Kozlowski of Addison; four great-grandchildren Maci Jo, Emma, Mia and Westley; loving sister Bonnie Haycock and husband Bobby of Milbridge; special mother-in-law Florence Colson and companion Wayne and sister-in-law Linda Lubrano all of Steuben; many special nieces and cousins; and his beloved dog Cassie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother-in-law Anthony “Duke” Lubrano and sister-in-law Holly Colson Redimarker.
Billy was an avid stock car driver at Speedway 95 for many years. He won many championships in his street stock #29. He later enjoyed watching son-in-law Greg race street stock #45. He enjoyed life and loved his time spent on the water with all his special lobster fishing friends. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family doing many special things.
A service will be held at 2 pm, on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Seaworthy Event Center in Milbridge, ME.
