STEUBEN – Celia M. Pinkham went Home to our Heavenly Father on November 10th, 2019.
Celia was born in Sullivan on July 13th, 1928 to Fred and Rose Warren.
Celia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and caregiver for so many foster children over the years. She and her late husband, Handy E Pinkham, always had a house full of children and were also involved in their community of Steuben.
Celia worked with Handy doing bookwork for his various businesses throughout their life together. But the job she loved most was caring for her children and foster children. After the death of her husband Handy, she sold the family home to her son Lewis. She wanted the homestead to stay in the family and she was no longer able to maintain the large home where so many young children had come and gone. Celia then moved to Narraguagus Estates in Cherryfield where she helped the “older people.” Whether it was a helping hand or giving advice she continued to care for others. She made many friends there and the family is thankful for all the help and companionship she received over her 14 years there. As her health deteriorated, she moved to Narraguagus Bay Residential Care.
Celia was strong in her Christian faith and enjoyed her Church and especially her Church Family that continued to visit and send cards and letters after she was no longer able to attend. She leaves her family here on Earth to join our Heavenly Father where we are sure he will say, “Well done, daughter.”
Celia leaves behind her sons, Adelbert Pinkham and wife Cindy, Lewis Pinkham and wife Linda, Shaun Pinkham and wife Marcia, Timothy Pinkham and wife Ava, and Richard Pinkham; two daughters, Myrna McConnell and her husband Midge, Kim Beal and her husband David; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Celia was predeceased by her parents Fred and Rose (Jellison) Warren; her husband, Handy E. Pinkham; brothers: Hershal Warren, Shirley Warren, Alfred Warren and Manley Warren; sisters: Vernetta Crocker, Winifred Lounder, and Barbara Staples; and a daughter, Peggy Pinkham.
A memorial service will be held December 28th at 10:30 at The Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Milbridge with Pastor Ambrose Rolfe officiating.
